Ex-Governor Satyapal Malik’s offices and premises raided by Federal Agency CBI

As expected, Former governor of Jammu & Kashmir and a staunch critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019 Pulwama attack has been in news since he left the office. It is to report that his premises located in various parts of Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh raided by CBI.

Mr. Satyapal was once a Modi’s confidante, appointed him as “Governor” of various states in Modi’s rule. He served as a governor of Goa, Meghalaya and Jammu and Kashmir.

He is very popular for being independent and enjoys tremendous respect among farming community in Hindi heartland and politically significant Jat community. While in office, he supported and extended his voice for eternal sufferings farming community.

After his term, he blasted PM Narendra Modi, HM Amit Shah and national security advisor Ajit Doval for their inefficiency and ignorance in the most dreadful attack on Indian paramilitary convoy(CRPF) led to the death of 45 Jawans/ soldiers on February 14th 2019. He sought an enquiry on Pulwama attack and explanation to the martyr’s families and the nation.

Modi government never responded on his requests, instead lambasted Satyapal for criticizing after his term as Governor. Satyapal also confessed that he was unknown about the movement of massive battalion by road. Had he known or received any request from the Army officials, he said he would have arranged Airforce choppers instead of road movement. He also questioned the failure of the Intelligence Bureau(IB) for not being vigilant when there is an unknown vehicle with destructive material inside roaming freely on the streets.

Later, it was evident that many media outlets outsmarted the competitors in building the narrative in run up to the 2019 elections and helped massively in return of the then incumbent BJP government under PM Modi.
Satyapal Malik also launched scathing attack on BJP government’s three farm laws as Black laws. He sharply criticized the government’s unfair responses on farmer protests and framing them as separatists or Khalistan’s by right wing social media handles and WhatsApp groups.

Corruption Charges:

The case linked to the alleged corruption in awarding civil works of the Kiru Hydro Electric Power Project (HEP) worth ₹2,200 crore, CBI confirms. The central agency had conducted searches at around 8 locations in Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir in January in ongoing probe.

The CBI had recovered digital devices, computers, property documents and incriminating documents alongside cash of ₹21 lakh. An official of the CBI had said that the case has registered based on an old reference from the J&K government against the then chairman, MD, and directors of CVPPPL, a private company and others. Allegedly, that in the award of civil works relating to the Kiru hydroelectric project.

“Although a decision was taken in 47th Board meeting of CVPPPL (Chenab Valley Power Projects (P) Ltd) for re-tender through e-tendering with reverse auction after cancellation of ongoing tendering process, same was not implemented (as per decision taken in 48th board meeting) and the tender awarded to Patel Engineering Ltd,” the FIR revealed.
